About EchoNomics

The simple way to understand your money and start saving without stress

Most people manage their money on autopilot.
They have a rough sense of what comes in and what goes out, but they do not truly understand the bigger picture.
How much they can realistically save, whether their level of commitments makes sense, and how they compare to others in a similar situation.

This gap does not stem from irresponsibility, but from a lack of clarity.
In a world flooded with data, charts, and financial apps, very few tools actually help people understand what these numbers mean for their real lives.

EchoNomics was created to change exactly that.

EchoNomics is a platform that translates financial data into a clear, simple picture, compares each person to a relevant peer group, and suggests small, practical steps for improvement.

No endless tables. No financial jargon. Just clarity that enables calm, confident decision-making.

Why we built EchoNomics?

Young adults today live in a challenging economic reality.
The cost of living is high, income is often unstable, and online financial information is confusing and full of noise. People do not need another spreadsheet or another graph. They need clarity.

EchoNomics began with a simple understanding, to make good decisions, you need a clear picture, not a complicated one, not a stressful one, and definitely not one filled with financial jargon.

How it works?

Within minutes, EchoNomics gives you:

Core financial indicators

Such as your debt to income ratio, savings rate, and essential expenses ratio.
These three numbers tell the whole story.

A true comparison to your peer group

Not a population wide average, but people who share your age, income level, and life stage.

Small steps that lead to real improvement

You receive three clear recommendations, sorted by effort and expected impact.
No lectures, no endless to do lists, just simple actions you can apply today.

The EchoNomics approach is based on a clear analytical framework and data sources.

You can read about this in detail on the Methodology, Data Sources and Analytical Framework page.

The community

EchoNomics was not created to be just another financial tool, but a starting point for a different conversation about money.

The EchoNomics community is for people who want to understand their financial situation without noise, judgment, or guilt.

People who are not looking for “clever hacks”, but for context, clarity, and real-life experiences.

Community members share small steps that made a difference, questions that arise along the way, and insights born from everyday financial decisions.
Not from theory, but from experience.

The goal of the community is not to teach, but to accompany.
Not to rank who is “doing better”, but to remind people that they are not alone, and that progress is possible through small, manageable steps, at a pace that fits each individual.

Who Is Behind EchoNomics?

My name is Amit Smaja, founder of EchoNomics.

My engagement with money did not begin from the traditional angle of “financial management”, but at the intersection of data, human behavior, and decision-making.

Over the years, working with data analysis and economics, I have accompanied processes, analyzed systems, and closely observed how people make financial decisions in complex, high-pressure, information-heavy environments.

Precisely where there is the most data, I repeatedly encountered the same pattern:
smart, responsible people with good intentions struggling to understand their financial situation, not because they lack knowledge, but because of noise and missing context.
They know the numbers, but not what those numbers actually say about them.

I came to understand that the core gap is not financial, but cognitive.
The ability to translate complex data into a simple picture that can be quickly understood, felt with confidence, and acted upon without triggering fear or guilt.

EchoNomics is the direct outcome of that insight.

It is not just a technological platform, but a framework of thinking that connects analytics, psychology, and financial behavior, with the goal of restoring clarity and control to everyday financial decisions.

I do not believe in big promises or miracle solutions.
I believe in context, simplicity, and small steps grounded in solid data and a human understanding of reality.

EchoNomics is built on this approach, with a commitment to setting a new standard for financial clarity.
